Tuesday, August 3rd sees the release on vinyl of VULTURE INDUSTRIES’ The Dystopia Journals, on the US label Ragnarok Records. Originally released on CD in late 2007 by Dark Essence Records, the vinyl version comes as a Double LP, limited to 500 copies, in 180g vinyl with a 350g gatefold jacket and includes the bonus track 'Ende', and a double-sided poster. The Dystopia Journals is the first full-length release from the Norwegian Avant-garde Industrialists, and was recorded at the Conclave and Earshot Studios in Bergen, which is owned by Vulture Industries’ front man and producer Bjornar Nilsen (BLACK HOLE GENERATOR), along with ENSLAVED’s Herbrand Larsen and Arve Isdal. Aside from Nilsen himself on vocals, synths and programming, the band’s line up comprises guitarists Øyvind Madsen (SULPHUR, ex-Enslaved) and Eivind Madsen (SULPHUR, ex-SYRACH), Kyrre Teigen on Bass and Tor Helge Gjengedal (ex-MALICE IN WONDERLAND, SULPHUR, TAAKE) on drums.

Work on Vulture Industries’ sophomore album, which is due for release on Dark Essence Records later this year, is currently being completed. The band has been confirmed to appear at the Labyrinthic Metal Evening in Bucharest on the 16th October along with Sweden’s SHINING, and will undertake a European Tour in the autumn with label-mates TAAKE, HELHEIM and SULPHUR to promote the new album.
