August 17, 2010, 14 years ago
Rhiis D. Lopez, frontman for Los Angeles-based ANA KEFR, has issued the following update is the wake of the news that MY RUIN, whom they were due to support in LA on September 4th, have cancelled all tour plans until next year.
"While all of us in Ana Kefr are extremely sad that we won't be celebrating our two year anniversary with our friends My Ruin at the Whisky, we will still be performing on September 4th as scheduled. We wish them all the best and look forward to sharing the stage another time, send My Ruin your love. We are still performing!"Ana Kefr will be performing at the Whisky in Los Angeles. Following is My Ruin's announcement that all tour plans have been cancelled:
"Dear Friends & Family,It's with heavy hearts and deep regret due to circumstances beyond our control we are being forced to postpone and reschedule our LA and London shows as well as our European tour dates. This is all we can tell you as we are unable to go into the details of this decision at this time.
The tour will be rescheduled for early 2011 with more UK dates added. All of the pre-sale tickets which have been sold for the London show on September 24th will remain valid and can be used for the new London date which we will be announcing soon. We are going to keep our event for the London Show posted on Facebook and will be posting a flyer with the new date and venue soon. The same goes for the After Party event. For those of you who have purchased tickets for the LA show via Ticketmaster - The Whisky has told us you will be receiving a letter regarding the cancellation and will be reimbursed. We cannot reschedule this until we have our tour re-confirmed.
As you know, My Ruin takes pride in being an independent and professional band with a strong DIY ethic and we realize [as we know you do] things like this happen all the time to bands both big and small but this is the first time in the 10 year history of our band that we have had to cancel a tour not to mention two very special shows in LA and London.
Thank you all for your continued love and support. We are both sorry about this situation and hope you will understand that we did everything within our power to prevent this from happening."
Sincerely,
Mr & Mrs M
