According to Laura Roberts from Telegraph.co.uk, Frank Ryan died in a car crash shortly after using his phone to post a message on the microblogging site. His car veered off a cliff on the California coast.
His last tweet read: "After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune west of Malibu. Much harder than it looks. Whew!"
The 50 year-old's clients included Gene Simmons (KISS) and Vince Neil (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Heidi Montag, a reality show star.
KISS frontman Simmons and his partner Shannon Tweed received facelifts from Ryan, documenting the process in their reality TV series Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
Ryan's website said his life would be celebrated at a candlelight vigial at Zuma Beach, Malibu, on Tuesday night.
