According to Garin Groff from Eastvalleytribune.com, the creator of ALICE COOPERstown in Phoenix is opening a Cooperstown in west Mesa, adding it to the massive AZ Country USA.

Brian Weymouth owns the 30,000-square-foot country venue and plans to open the Cooperstown in September. Instead of having a sports and rock theme, it will celebrate sports and country music and be larger than the downtown Phoenix locale, Weymouth said.

"It's kind of Cooperstown on steroids," Weymouth said.

The new restaurant will take up about 6,000 square feet and has a capacity of 400.

Weymouth is still a partner with shock rocker Alice Cooper in the original venue but Cooper isn't involved with the Mesa one.
