In advance of the September 14 release of two new studio albums, instrumental guitarist RANDY ELLEFSON has post streaming audio of both CDs in their entirety from his official site, Randyellefson.com. This will be an exclusive until the albums, Serenade Of Strings and The Lost Art, hit retail.

“I used to avoid streaming entire albums for several reasons,” says Ellefson, citing the theory that if people can listen all day for free, they’ll never buy a track or album. “That may be true, but if they really like something, they’ll want to take it with them. There’s also software that allows you to capture a stream, which is another risk, but in the end, I decided that there’s really no point in promoting an album if no one can hear it.”

Serenade Of Strings is an all-acoustic album while The Lost Art is a bonus disc of classical guitar recordings Ellefson made 15 years ago, prior to developing tendonitis and losing the ability to play that genre for good. The injury also cost him his acoustic guitar playing for about ten years, making Serenade of Strings a comeback album of sorts. Half of its songs were written before the injury in 1996, as detailed in the track-by-track remarks on his website.

In addition to the new releases, his prior hard rock albums The Firebard and Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid can also now be streamed from Randyellefson.com.

Serenade of Strings and The Lost Art are available September 14th.
