SUNY Potsdam's student-run paper The Racquette has filed the following report:

On September 21st, 2010 in the lobby of the Crumb Library, the Bregman Book Discussion Series will be holding of a symposium of I Am Ozzy. All are welcome to attend.

Some believe it is through literature that we may live and learn from the lives of the characters we follow. As most of us have neither the legal or musical resumé, which Ozzy Osbourne has acquired through his 40 year and continuing career, readers can experience pieces of Ozzy's life (which have made him an onstage legend, offstage madman and topic of a reality show) in his own words through his 2010 (2009 UK) autobiography I Am Ozzy. The distinct humor and sincerity which he has become known for comes through in this chronological account of his life, which is sure to entertain.

Two volunteer honor students and two faculty members will host the discussion. Faculty for this particular meeting will be Ed Komara, a librarian at the Crane Music Library, and Dr. John Ellis, a trumpet professor at Crane who also teaches the History of Rock class. Both will provide intriguing perspectives.

"I wanted to choose books that would get students interested and excited. I think the book I Am Ozzy is the perfect embodiment of this," said Bregman organizer Dan Newton, who was given the suggestion to use the book as a selection by Komara, a 35 year long Ozzy fan. "Ozzy Osbourne is a household name now, talked about by parents and teenagers alike. His autobiography makes for entertaining reading and for lively discussion."
