As reported last week, Season 2 is now underway for the ALICE IN CHAINS & Friends Fantasy Football Charity League on ESPN.com.

This year, Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez are facing off against some competition both new and old: Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Scott Ian (ANTHRAX), Vinnie Paul (HELLYEAH), Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY), MEAT LOAF, Duff McKagan (LOADED), Matt Willig, and Jay Harris from ESPN Sportscenter.

An update from ESPN reads:

Alice In Chains & Friends Fantasy Football Charity League newcomer Meat Loaf blasted out of the gates like a... oh, what is it... what's the right expression for a quick start?

You knew we'd have to go there at some point, and it's just fitting after Michael Aday's Hell In A Handbasket scored a league-best 144 points against Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell's JC Aroma of Tacoma in Week 1.

Meat Loaf is new to the AIC charity league, but he's a longtime fantasy football veteran who used that experience to get 41 fantasy points from Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, 26 from Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson and 19 from Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer. The rest of the roster's output was just gravy (really, no pun intended), as that trio of players would have been enough to top the 83 points scored by Cantrell's team.
