October 13, 2010, 14 years ago
Bassist Rex Brown (PANTERA, DOWN, ARMS OF THE SUN) made a guest appearance on Monday's (October 11th) edition of original TROUBLE drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson's new Internet radio show, Heady Metal With Jeff Olson, and revealed that drumming legend Vinny Appice (HEAVEN & HELL, BLACK SABBATH, DIO) has joined Arms Of The Sun.
During the interview, discussing Arms Of The Sun, Brown states: "I got Vinny Appice to come in and play drums, in fact he's gonna come out this Monday - and I think that's gonna be the rhythm section. That's gonna be pretty hardcore brother."
Later in the interview, Brown discusses the departure of Arms Of The Sun's previous drummer John Luke Hébert, stating : "He played on a couple of KING DIAMOND records in the 90s, and... anyway, great drummer, just very hard to get to rehearsal. And so we've been through, like, three drummers now, and finally I convinced Vinny, you know I said, 'Dude, you gotta come down and help me out on this'. Vinny and I are doing another little side project, and I said, 'Look, I'll help you on your deal if you'll come down and help me on mine. So it's kind of a scratch each other's back kind of deal. And we have time for both bands, which is cool."
