BON JOVI To Receive Global Icon Award At MTV Europe Awards

According to Billboard.com, BON JOVI will receive a Global Icon prize at next month's MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid, the music channel said on Tuesday.

Bruce Gillmer, executive vice president of music and talent at MTV Networks International called Bon Jovi "one of the most beloved and influential rock bands of all time." They are winners of the inaugural Global Icon award.

The band will perform in Madrid on November 7 at a show to be broadcast live on MTV websites. Most of the categories are decided by a public online vote.

According to Wikipedia, throughout their career, Bon Jovi have released eleven studio albums, three compilation albums and one live album, and have sold over 130 million records worldwide. They have performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans.
