ESCAPE THE FATE guitarist Bryan "Monte" Money is featured in a new interview with Ultimate-Guitar.com. An excerpt is available below.

Q: I understand that MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars collaborated on a song for your new record. How did that come about?

Money: "That was cool. We went up to Mick Mars' house and collaborated on a song. We actually ended up not using it."

Q: Which players shaped your personal approach to the guitar?

Money: "I wasn’t listening to much at the time until it was like the late '90s. I guess you could say a lot of those bands that were out. It’s going to sound weird, but it was KORN that actually got me started. Then VAN HALEN and a lot of other rock – MÖTLEY CRÜE, MICK MARS, JIMMY PAGE, a lot of other great classic rock guitarists."

Q: Were you self-taught?

Money: "Yeah, I was self-taught."

Q: When you were teaching yourself, were there any particular methods that you found took your playing to the next level?

Money: "Van Halen. Whatever is out when you’re young and you listen to…I guess you could say what made me want to play was Van Halen."

Q: Did you heavily study everything Eddie Van Halen did, from tapping to arpeggios?

Money: "Yeah. I did a lot of tapping and studied his style. His style was such a defining, shredding style. It really made me want to do that with my solos. He had very melodic solos. Then he also had the tremolo bar. I had to get me one of those!"

Escape The Fate recently leaked a behind-the-scenes clip shot at the video shoot for their new single, Issues. The song comes off the band’s upcoming self-titled album which will hit stores on November 2nd. In the horror movie influenced video, the group is being attacked by a small village of people, but things aren’t as they seem.

Escape The Fate frontman Craig Mabbitt explains, "Slowly through the video, you begin to realize the town's people are the ones that are crazy and insane. We're just a group of four rad dudes playing in a church.” The P.R. Brown (STONE SOUR, SLIPKNOT) directed video’s concept was Mabbitt’s, who wanted a graphic novel type of feel to it. Anyone who has already seen the “Issues” video knows that the band achieved the vocalist’s goal.
