Ryan's Rock Show recently conducted an interview with DAATH guitarist Eyal Levi. He talks about music and technology, and the band’s recently released self-titled album. An excerpt follows:

Levi: “It just depends how you use [technology]. It’s like how water can drown you or give you life, it’s just a tool. For me, the medium is when technology is used to fake something that should have been done manually, then I don’t like it. If it’s used to put a project together, to mix something, to record something, some basic editing -- use it as a tool.”

As previously reported, Daath's third full-length album was released October 25th through Century Media Records. The self-titled disc was co-produced by Mark Lewis (TRIVIUM, DEVILDRIVER) and Eyal Levi (guitars).

The group is now more determined, energized and focused than ever before and expanded upon their unique, uncompromising and dynamic sound. For those previously uninitiated, feel free to head over to this location to see what they are all about.

Daath is currently preparing for a plethora of worldwide touring, which kicks off on November 24th in North America as the group heads out on a trek with CHIMAIRA and IMPENDING DOOM. This will lead them immediately into a lengthy European run with FEAR FACTORY.

Levi states: “Last time we toured with Chimaira was the fall of 2009 in Europe. That tour was downright destructive. The only bummer was that we wished we could have toured together with Chimaira on American soil. Well here it is! The first tour supporting our upcoming album will be in North America with Chimaira and Impending Doom this November. All I can say past that is those of you who make it out will get to experience DAATH in a whole new way.

“This past summer we kept getting asked why we stayed in Europe for such a short time during the festival season. Our only answer was, 'we'll be back soon.' Well, we're very excited to announce that we are returning to Europe for our second time in 2010 with the legendary Fear Factory and the hypnotic High On Fire. The excitement to bring our European fans some new Daath as part of such an incredible tour package is almost overwhelming. Europe, we will see you in December!”

Levi further comments: “Our third album is the most unrestrained and over the top collection of songs we've ever captured. We went in with the intent of creating a freak show of a record and we achieved it. People looking for a wrecking ball of an album will be happy. People looking for an album they'll still hear new things in one year down the road will be happy. People going in with any preconceived notions of who we are and what we sound like are in for a surprise."
