Billboard.com has issued the following report from Paul Sexton, London:

BON JOVI lands another pan-European #1, as the band's new Greatest Hits compilation (Mercury/Universal Island) makes a winning start on Billboard's European Albums chart.

The veteran American rock act missed out on the European crown with its last studio release, The Circle, which debuted and peaked at #2 exactly a year ago. That interrupted a perfect run including 2007's Lost Highway, which spent four weeks at #1, Have A Nice Day (two weeks in 2005), Bounce (one week in 2002) and Crush, on top for no fewer than seven weeks in 2000.

Greatest Hits debuts in pole position in Portugal and Ireland, with #2 starts in the United Kingdom (on sales of 87,000), Germany and Austria, #3 in Holland in Switzerland and #5 in Norway. The Circle Tour continues until December 19th, and following further North American dates in February and March, the band will embark on a major 2011 European tour opening June 8th in Zagreb.

The Greatest Hits compilations, available in both double and single CD packages, are chock full of Bon Jovi's biggest chart-toppers including 'Livin' On A Prayer', 'Wanted Dead or Alive', 'Who Says You Can't Go Home' and more. The collection will debut four brand new tracks - 'What Do You Got?', 'The More Things Change', 'No Apologies', and 'This Is Love, This Is Life'.

Bon Jovi performed on the Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday, November 9th. Check out video footage of the band's performances of their tracks 'What Do You Got?' and 'It's My Life' below
