BraveWords.com Presents The Brave Picks Top 30 Of 2010... #28 Is Today!
December 3, 2010, 13 years ago
We continue to count down the finest slabs of metal from the last year, as chosen by the devout scribes here at BW&BK;/BraveWords.com. As with previous years, each writer was asked to pick his top 20 albums of the year (no live records, compilations or covers etc...). We perform a little behind-the-scenes metal math and voila, we have our list! We'll be counting down the Top 30 all month - yup, one a day until we get to New Year's - yes, we're aware that December has 31 daze but we thought we'd let you hang until January 1st!
It's time for 28 - drum roll please...
#28 - TWILIGHT: Monument To Time End (Southern Lord)
Twilight's massive lineup on the Monument To Time End includes three founding members - Blake Judd (NACHTMYSTIUM), Wrest (LEVIATHAN, LURKER OF CHALICE), and N. Imperial (KREIG) - and new recruits Stavros Giannopolous (THE ATLAS MOTH), Sanford Parker (MINSK, BURIED AT SEA) and Aaron Turner (ISIS, OLD MAN GLOOM), as well as vocal contributions by Robert Lowe (LICHENS, OM) on three tracks.
A press release on Twilight's latest album reads: "Undoubtedly, the harsh and cantankerous black metal underbelly of the foundation of the unit is still intact throughout Monument To Time End, but it's the visual hell the listener feels personified through the more dissonant, demented and ethereal realms of utter madness explored, where seemingly psychotropic nightmares come to life with an ethereal, beautiful vengeance."
