On Sunday, December 19th, A&E;'s reality TV series Gene Simmons Family Jewels will feature the 2010 Pacific University Legends Golf Classic, hosted by KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer. The event was held this past August at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha, OR.

Tommy, a member of Pacific's Board of Trustees, persuaded band-mate and KISS co-founder Gene Simmons to participate in the auction-concert-golf fundraiser that benefits the University's intercollegiate student-athletes.

A clip from the show is below:

As previously reported, During the recent 2010 KISS Hottest Show On Earth, Tommy Thayer's #1 touring guitar badly need some fixing up after months of abuse and pummeling on the KISS stage. During a five day tour break in early August 2010, Tommy's tech Jim Survis sent the war-torn guitar out for repairs locally at BCR Music in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania for the much needed tune-up.

As BCR's tech Greg Platzer described it: "I picked the guitar up backstage at a show, it's Tommy Thayer's favorite Les Paul. It needed frets and a new nut. The fingerboard had a ripple in it, so there will be a bit of work involved.... He plays this a bit, not artificial "relic" crap here...."
