Report: JIMI HENDRIX Estate 'Scuppers' Biopic Plans, Film-Makers Say

AOL Music UK has issued the following report from Julian Marszalek:
Plans for a JIMI HENDRIX biopic have been circulating from almost the moment the legendary guitarist passed away in London in September 1970 with names such as OUTKAST's Andre 3000, Eddie Murphy and, back in the 80s, THIN LIZZY's Phil Lynott all linked to the lead role.
Now it looks like the waiting for the biopic is going to continue for even longer. Movie website Deadline.com reports that the latest attempt to film the legendary guitarist's life has been scuppered by the Hendrix Estate for fear that the warts 'n' all approach of the script would harm ongoing record sales.
