Los Angeles, CA’s ABYSMAL DAWN have uploaded the new song ‘In Service Of Time’ to their Facebook and MySpace pages. The track comes off their upcoming record Leveling The Plane Of Existence, which has been set for a February 1st North American release date (February 7th – UK, February 11th – Germany, Benelux, February 14th – rest of Europe).

Guitarist/vocalist Charles Elliott comments: “Lyrically the song is about trying not to repeat your same mistakes, and trying to find purpose in life in the time that you’re given. When I was writing the lyrics I was very inspired by the infectious mechanized rhythm of the song. I could visualize the gears of clocks ticking away and it got me thinking about my own mortality. I’m really proud of this song and the fact that it was the first collaborative effort between myself, Mike and Scott. This new record is definitely our best and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

As previously reported, Abysmal Dawn was joined by guest musicians Moyses Kolesne (KRISIUN) and Kragen Lum (HEATHEN, PROTOTYPE) during the recording of the new album.

Kolesne provides a guitar solo on the track 'Pixilated Ignorance' and Lum adds guitar solos on 'Rapture Renowned' and the title track.

The band recently issued a brief video clip taped during the recording of Leveling The Plane Of Existence, which can be seen below. The first of the in-studio videos includes an interview with AD drummer Scott Fuller, insight on the band’s writing process, and a run-down of Fuller’s recording set-up. Additional studio footage is forthcoming.

Additionally, Abysmal Dawn has announced the first North American tour in support of Leveling The Plane Of Existence for early next year. Abysmal Dawn will be teaming up with KATAKLYSM, ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH and more for this four-week tour that will kick-off on February 24th in Cleveland, OH.
