Madison, Wisconsin based '80's rock and underground classic metal band LORDS OF THE TRIDENT will be releasing a new CD, entitled Chains On Fire, on January 28th, 2011. This sophomore release features thirteen tracks of original heavy metal masterpieces.

The quintet took a break from their steady performing in late 2010 to record their new album. The songs are a mix of classic 80s-era heavy metal and modern metal stylings. The band steadily recorded this release over four months’ time in their “secret recording facility thirteen miles beneath the earth’s crust, nestled in the Mohorovi?i? discontinuity”, but the actual writing of the songs extended over a much longer period of time.

“The recording was rather difficult,” stated vocalist and frontman Fang VonKillenstein. “Our guitarists’ shredding produced much more heat than we had planned for. We would get halfway through a song only to find that our microphones had already melted!”

The Lords had a fruitful year in 2010, opening for nationally known bands such as MUSHROOMHEAD and CAGE. Additionally, they were selected by the Warriors of Metal festival as one of the best “up and coming” metal acts, and performed on the main stage of the festival in Ohio.

The leather-clad barbarian, stoic samurai, roman gladiator, bull-horned demon, and skeletal necromancer that make up the band are pure metal showmen. In addition to the impressive costuming and undeniable stage presence of the Lords, live performances feature an array of pyrotechnic and lighting effects in addition to songs in which audience participation is not only encouraged, but often mandatory. Seeing the Lords Of The Trident is an unforgettable experience for any fan of live music!

Mastering was performed by Jake Johnson of Paradyme Productions in Madison, WI. Mr. Johnson has engineered other songs for METALLICA, STEVE VAI and others.

The album will be available for direct download through Amazon.com, iTunes, Napster, Reverb Nation, and the band’s main site, LordsOfTheTrident.com.
