Inferno Festival 2011 - Kick-Off Party Details Revealed

Organizers of the Inferno Festival 2011, which will run from April 20th - 23rd in Oslo, Norway at John Dee and Rockefeller venues, have issuedthe following updated newsletter. The line-up for Inferno Festival 2011 includes ALCEST, ATHEIST, AURA NOIR, DØDHEIMSGARD, EXHUMED, IMMORTAL, MALEVOLENT CREATION, OKKULTOKRATI PENTAGRAM (celebrating their 40th anniversary), and SOILENT GREEN.
"On Saturday, January 22nd we will announce the full 2011 lineup. This will be done at our kick-off parties in Oslo and Trondheim.The doors open at 20:00 and the first band will go on at 20:45. The tickets cost 200 NOK and are available at Billettservice. Remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
URGEHAL are keeping the faith and spirit of original Norwegian Black Metal and the band from Hønefoss has every right to do so. Ever since lead guitarist and singer Trondr Nefas founded Urgehal with guitarist Enzifer as early as the year 1992, they have followed a strict policy of using satanic and misanthropic lyrics, heavy corpsepaint and spikes on stage as well as a dirty and harsh sound.
Now Urgehal are bringing their war machine to full power with Ikonoklast. The Norwegians embrace the values of the fundamental darkness, hate and misanthropy, which Black Metal is built upon. In this very conscious underground scene only a few bands are able to claim authenticity. Urgehal count among the chose few that possess high credibility and respect amongst the followers of this extreme genre. "Ikonoklast" is the audible proof of their continued dirty war against ursupation by the boring mass market - yet there is an uncanny catchiness and sinister groove to their newest output. Let Urgehal seduce your black soul and take you to hell!
WAKLEVOREN was brewed back in 2002, by Bored (ex-TRASHCAN DARLINGS) and Gorgon V (ex-FUCK YOU ALL). The two joined forces with Bölla Brandt from RED HARVEST (the three coming from the same birthplace). Apollyon (13) from AURA NOIR / CADAVER / IMMORTAL / LAMENTED SOULS soon teamed up and after taking one drunk phone call, Bolt Bergsten (Red Harvest) said yes, and it was finally not just a band on the paper, Waklevoren was a bastard child waiting to earfuck human kind.
Waklevoren can best be explained as a hard punch in your face, leaving anyone wondering "What the fuck was in that beer?!!"
2007 brought Waklis back to life after a year long silence. Some changes had to be considered and new energy had to be consumed somehow. Bölla Brandt decided to leave the group after five years, a loss of a personality and musician that would be dearly missed. But the band was so eager to continue and found new love and respect in Mr. Bestial Tormentor, a long time buddy from band such as INFERNÖ / BÖH (Baron Blod). He fitted right in and the whole process of making things work, went smoothly as hell. New songs and concerts were planned, and the ship kept on sailing! In late October 2007 they released a EP called Tiden Lager Alle Sår, a taste of what was further to come.
Waklis is stronger than ever and look forward to keep on kicking ass for more years to come! Keep your eyes and ears open, ..cause they’re still hungry AND older!!!
Having released three impressive albums INSENSE has established themselves with devoted fan base both in Norway and abroad, pouring out their original hybrid of technically brutal riffs and aggressive melodies. They have been called a combination of the “time signatures in the noise tech vein of the new DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, with the subtlety of NEUROSIS coupled with the extreme controlled aggression of SLIPKNOT”. Others cited SEPULTURA’s raw heaviness, MESHUGGAH’s technical prowess, and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's ornate song structuring. Despite the schizophrenic descriptions, the reviews have been overwhelming. The spring of 2011 will see the release of their fourth album and Insense will demonstrate how innovative metal should sound in 2011.

HARM is a Norwegian thrash-metal band from Mandal that was formed in '97 by singer/bass player Steffan Schulze. Harm released the critically acclaimed album Devil in 2006 and are to release their follow up album Demonic Alliance in 2011. The band consist of Steffan Schulze on vocals and bass, Andreas Vågane on lead guitar and Øivind Vågane on drums.
As in previous years Zone booking presents the Inferno kick-off in Trondheim on January 22nd. It will be held at Fru Lundgreen. Tickets prices are 100 NOK. The age limit is 20 years. The first band will go on at 22:00. Also, three festival passes will be awarded some lucky attendants this evening.

HELLISH OUTCAST: Hard hitting death-thrash with Thebon from KEEP OF KALESSIN on vocals. The band visited Trondheim during the Wacken Metal Battle finals in 2008. They didn't win the competition but gained a lot of new fans.

INI: This band was earlier known as REVOCATION from Trondheim. A change of name and style lead to a new interesting avantgarde band following in the footsteps of bands like DHG, VIRUS and DEATHSPELL OMEGA.
