Switzerland's DREAMSHADE To Release Debut Album Via Spinefarm Records UK In March; 'Miles Away' Video Available

Formed in 2006 by guitarists Fella and Rocco, Swiss outfit DREAMSHADE will have their debut full-length album released through Spinefarm Records UK on March 21st.
Titled What Silence Hides, and sitting loosely under the melodic death metal banner, a genre that continues to be developed by their high-profile label-mates CHILDREN OF BODOM, Dreamshade succeed in bringing modern elements to the traditions of the music – the result being a fresh blend of melodic death and progressive metal.
Mixed at Studio Fredman in Sweden (a veritable Mecca for the melodic death metal scene) and mastered by the legendary George Marino at Sterling Sound in New York, the 10 tracks featured here are tightly arranged & expertly played, ranging from the genuinely melodic through to no-holds-barred, full-tilt fare. Strong haunting melodies, powerful hi-tech rhythms, atmospheric, emotional keyboards, soaring guitar hooks and aggressive screams and howls, it’s all here to be savoured and enjoyed, the whole thing wrapped up in the powerful artwork of Colin Marks from Rain Song Design.
At the start of the band’s career, it wasn’t easy for Fella and Rocco to find like-minded musicians capable of handling the demands of the music they were creating; however, once the full line-up was in place, the band began to appear on the bill at some of the most important European rock festivals, building their brand, spreading their music and message (initially via the self-funded, five-track To The Edge Of Reality EP) and making it clear that a new name was now poised to take the metal world by the shoulders… and shake!
In short, What Silence Hides is proof positive that heavy metal – far from showing any dearth of drama and ideas – continues to twist ‘n’ turn to exciting effect, forever finding new ways to light a fire under the senses… all of them.
