Classic Rock Revisited's Jeb Wright recently spoke with new QUIET RIOT vocalist Mark Huff. An excerpt from the conversation is available below:

"I am honored and very excited to be Quiet Riot’s new singer," exclaimed Huff. "I am also humbled and feel a bit of pressure. Who wouldn’t feel pressure? Kevin Dubrow was a one of kind songwriter, musician and a consummate performer. He had an incredible vocal range; I have mass respect for Kevin. I don't think trying to duplicate Kevin’s every sound or movement is what honors Kevin DuBrow or Quite Riot. It’s important for me to stay true to the songs as they were written, as the fans remember them, and to bring the live show to full strength. I am not here to replace Kevin DuBrow."

After the tragic passing of co-founding Quiet Riot singer Kevin DuBrow in 2007, many figured that the band was over. But while going through the vaults of vintage video material for an upcoming documentary of the band’s history, the spark was reignited once more for drummer Frankie Banali to kick QR back in gear. The easy part was filling the guitar and bass slots – as former members Chuck Wright (bass) and Alex Grossi (guitar) promptly signed on. However, having to fill DuBrow’s large shoes was no small task.

A longtime fan of heavy metal, singer Mark Huff came to Banali’s attention while fronting a California-based VAN HALEN tribute band (that focused on the “Sammy Hagar era”). A true Cinderella story, Huff auditioned via a cattle call audition, promptly blew Banali away, and got the gig. After getting the blessing from DuBrow’s mother to carry on with Quiet Riot (and to celebrate her son’s music), the group was ready to rock once more.

In addition to the aforementioned concerts, Quiet Riot will be guests on US syndicated radio show Rockline on Wednesday, January 19th. The program airs at 8:30 PM (PT) / 11:30 PM (ET). The show will feature drummer Frankie Banali, exclusive live Rockline performances with the late Kevin DuBrow and recordings with new vocalist Mark Huff.
