PAIN, the industrial brainchild of HYPOCRISY mailman Peter Tägtgren, have issued the following update:
"More and more pieces are falling into place, and as we are finishing the work with the new album we are ready to announce the first show dates for 2011:June
19 - Myötätuulirock - Vantaa, Finland25 - Graspop Metal Meeting - Dessel, Belgium
More dates are already booked but not ready to go official yet. And even more dates including a mini-tour and a longer headline tour are in the planning stage and will be announced as soon as the organizers give us the go sign.
2011 will be an awesome year for Pain and we're really looking forward to see you this summer and play the new songs live!
Stay tuned."
Pain are working on the follow-up to 2008's Cynic Paradise. Anette Olzon - NIGHTWISH singer and girlfriend of Pain bassist Johan Husgafvel - says that the band are finishing the album this week.
"The album will be out approximately in June," she says, "and so far I have listened to seven of the songs and they are really good! The new songs are more aggressive, faster tempo and also include new elements they haven't used before. A more 'dark' album in the lyrics and also in his way of singing. One song is more like Hypocrisy, so if you like that you'll have that one as a favourite. When I first heard the songs I thought it was quite different from the last album and it is. The more I listen to the songs the more I like them and I think it will be a great one! I can see them do their famous headspins live to this album too."
On July 30, 2010, Olzon and Husgafvel welcomed their new son Nemo into the world.
