SWASHBUCKLE's Commodore RedRum has posted a ship's log from the recent 70000 Tons Of Metal Cruise courtesy of Mark Morton at Examiner.com. An excerpt is available below:
"I don’t even have time to drop my carry-on luggage in my room before Gunnar Thomsen of Týr hands me a Corona. We toast to the great times ahead of us. As everyone slowly filters aboard, I’m immediately thrown into a whirlwind of 'Great to see you again!'s and 'Holy f*** it’s been too long!'s. There are almost TOO many familiar faces. It is a veritable who’s who of the metal world. This is going to be one hell of a party. In the first night the passengers aboard 70K drank more than a normal Royal Caribbean cruise line would consume in a combined four days. They were ill-prepared. It was the first time the ship had to restock its bars upon reaching the shores of Mexico. The first, and likely the LAST time before 70K happens again. I’ll be VERY honest about this: If you weren’t there - if you missed this boat - no collection of words, nor gallery of pictures, nor choppy YouTube video will capture the pure MAGIC which ensued. It was the stuff of legend."
