Mighty Music has announced the signing of three new bands, SCARRED BY BEAUTY, SIC and VANIR. Yet another three proofs that the new Danish and now also the Faroese metal generation indeed is bursting with creative talents.

Scarred By Beauty was formed in 2006 by the brothers Dennis and Daniel Leszkowicz and the childhood friend Jonathan Albrechtsen (former HATESPHERE singer). Scarred By Beauty won at the Danish Metal Awards 2009 in the category Talent of the Year. The band’s debut album, Sutra,follows in the path of their previously released EP, We Swim, and clearly shows how Scarred By Beauty has grown and developed new sides to their music. On Sutra, the band combines a range of various styles, in a new and playful way. From pounding punk and hardcore passages, into vast and melodic landscapes the band mixes noise rock, metal and core genres with minimalistic lyrics, in a graceful, unique and refreshing way. Sutra stands as a solid and personal product from a young and ambitious band. In 2010 Scarred By Beauty played both a Danish and a European tour, and have supported GOJIRA in Copenhagen as well as Berlin.

Sutra will be released in Denmark on March 7th, and in the rest of Europe during May/June via Mighty Music/Target Distribution.

Sic recorded their first album, Pandemonium, in Denmark with producer Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, PRETTY MAIDS) in 2006 and followed it up with a full scale tour along with Danish metal act Hatesphere and opening for Gojira on two occassions. Sic recruited Danish drummer Dennis Buhl (ex-Hatesphere/THE KANDIDATE) in December 2009, and is now ready with the second full length album, Fighters They Bleed, produced by acclaimed producer Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, DESTRUCTION) and mixed by Tue Madsen (SICK OF IT ALL, THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILLITY). Sic deliver merciless death/thrash as sharp as a knife, with a modern touch.

After Ymer’s sons, Vile and Ve slaughtered their father and created the earth, they saw that man was divided and dreary! Vile and Ve couldn’t understand the reason why, but Odin knew what man needed! Odin gathered all of his might and with all the powers of the world he cast onto the world of Midgaard a band of hearty Vikings. These brave men and women called themselves Vanir. And they decided to help man through the power of mead, meat, fornication, and metal!

On the debut album, Saerimners Kød, Vanir creates the soundtrack for any party which should end in crazed drunkenness, and any raid which should end in glorious victory! We do not compromise with the folk aspect of our music and have a great respect for our ancestors, and the myths which we interpret through the music. But we also view them beyond their warrior-like qualities. Aside from being strong, proud, and brutal on the field of battle, they were also capricious had a lust for feasts and at times thoroughly smashed. Our goal at any show of ours is to tear the roof from the venue (figuratively speaking), and to show the gods that among our fans, even today, there are still Vikings worthy of sitting at the tables of Valhalla, feast on Saerimner’s flesh, drink of Sutting’s mead and call themselves Einherjar of the Gods!
