news life in black cradle of filth

CRADLE OF FILTH have issued the following tour diary update from frontman Dani Filth:

"Salutations from the arse end of nowhere, that legendary title bestowed upon the map between San Francisco and Seattle, right on the interstate in plain sight of a Comfort Inn, some cosy eateries and a Best Buy, with the rural landscape sweeping right up to the picturesque mountains. The perfect setting for a day off, a bit of shopping (I managed to pick up a bunch of cool DVDs for those couch slug moments in the bowels of the bus), some food (despite being on another 24 hour no-food diet to combat the bum bug), and a long hot bath in a motel watching advert-ridden American TV. Paradise itself! A bit of me-time, everyone disappearing like spiders to their respective dark corners, only to meet up later in the bar. It's actually quite a romantic picture I paint, neon lights promising comfort beneath a vast descending sky and the moist familiarity of friends. Aaaarh!

I apologise for the small delay in writing but the last few days have been extremely erratic, heavily scheduled and if not, shrouded in the cruel mantle of illness, that same bloody 'Montezuma's Revenge' that has clung to the few for so long. Add to that the mutation into a chest infection, a slight cough and a sore throat and you have every orifice in your body made sore.. Still, this only slightly clouds the march of the tour (you might liken our tour anthem to Onward Christian Soldiers!), as Pomona, Vegas (there's nothing more American to experience than the Vegas strip on a warm Superbowl Sunday), LA-LA land and San Fran envelope and enrich our tour-tured souls.

First off Pomona was a really relaxed day, and compared to the shitty weather we've experienced recently, this comes as a godsend. If this was England, it would be considered a perfect Summer's afternoon crawling the local antique shops and eateries, or flitting between the awesome Fox theatre and the freshly vacuumed bus, with all it's windows open to the sun and the side bit out. The show itself is awesome and draws the biggest crowd thus far, the new tracks seemingly going down a storm."
