MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine and Shawn Drover guest-host this week's episode of Triple J's The Racket, which airs every Tuesday night in Australia and is hosted by CONTRIVE drummer Andrew Haug. The show is available for streaming at this location.

Speaking to Noisecreep's Jon Wiederhorn, Mustaine responds to the question: Why is there only one Big Four US show confirmed?

Says Mustaine: "That, I don't know. But I do know this - and it's not me speaking on behalf of any of the Big Four collectively or individually - it started off as one date before, and then it ended up being several. So I would say for people that pray, do so. For people that don't, start."

The Big Four - featuring METALLICA, SLAYER, Megadeth and ANTHRAX - announced on January 25th that they will play one exclusive show on Metallica's home turf on Saturday, April 23rd at the Empire Polo Club, Indio, CA.

During an appearance on a recent edition of The Kevin & Bean Show on the Los Angeles-based radio station KROQ-FM (106.7), Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich explained why there is only one US show:

"Let's take baby steps here. We did seven or eight dates last year, we're doing one show in England and one show in France.

Listen, we don't wanna cram this down people's throats., we don't wanna sort of overstay the welcome, and we don't know what kind of response there's gonna be to this in America, so we're starting, obviously, without being disrespectful to the rest of the wonderful country...

We have a history in Southern California, Slayer has a history in Southern California, (Dave) Mustaine has a history in Southern California, so there's a lot of history in California. And we picked the Coachella site where this is going down the week after the Coachella, which is probably - along with Bonnaroo - the favorite festival site to go to in North America.

If there is enough demand for it, obviously there's a very strong possibility that there'll be more shows, but we don't wanna overextend the welcome and we also don't wanna turn it into something that becomes just this whole nostalgia trip. So it's a balancing act, you know."
