Drummer Asgeir Mickelson (ex-BORKNAGAR) has revealed that Norwegian progressive metal band SPIRAL ARCHITECT are working on the long-overdue follow-up to 2000's acclaimed A Sceptic's Universe.

Says Mickelson on the Ultimate Metal Forum: "We've been working on the next album - obviously more off than on - since 1999(?) and have maybe an hour's worth of music (bits and pieces). The good news is that it looks like there will be continuous work on this album from March this year. Time will tell…"

In 2007, Mickelson explained the status of Spiral Architect: "A lot of people are annoyed about the fact that we’re doing “everything” else than what we “should” do – which is making another SA-album. But the fact is that we’ve always thought that we will make one when it feels right. Nothing has really ever gotten in the way. I’m not even sure it feels right this time either… Time will tell."

A Sceptic's Universe line-up:

Øyvind Hægeland - vocals

Steinar Gundersen - lead guitar

Andreas Jonsson - guitar

Lars K. Norberg - bass

Asgeir Mickelson - drums
