March 7, 2011, 13 years ago
Swedish extreme metal powerhouse, ARCH ENEMY, has teamed up with industry leading audio technologies manufacturer, Altec Lansing, to unveil the cover art for the band’s forthcoming full-length record, Khaos Legions. The artwork below comes courtesy of renowned artist, Brent Elliott White (MEGADETH, DEATH ANGEL):
Khaos Legions, Arch Enemy’s ninth studio album, will hit stores in late spring/early summer on Century Media Records. The record will mark a return to new, original material, after releasing the Tyrants Of The Rising Sun – Live In Japan live DVD/CD (2008) and the re-recordings album, The Root Of All Evil (2009).
Arch Enemy will play a very special and intimate showcase on March 14th, in Wermelskirchen, Germany at the AJZ Bahndamm – a self-governed youth centre which is well-known for its various underground metal, punk and hardcore shows with a capacity of 200 people.
This show will kick off the campaign for the new album, Khaos Legions which will be available all across Europe on May 30th.
Arch Enemy recently checked in with the following update:
"We guess you’ve already seen the first part of Arch Enemy’s studio report. The one about Daniel Erlandsson tracking drums at Sweet Spot Studio in the south of Sweden. The band is currently there recording their self-produced new 2011 album Khaos Legions, with the help of Rickard Bengtsson (who produced 2005's Doomsday Machine album). If not, hurry up and (check it out below):Part 2 of the studio report shows bass-player Sharlee D’Angelo scarifying his bleeding fingers for the sake of Khaos:
“Ladies and gentlemen, the low end is firmly in place! After a long day of ploughing through an absolutely massive array of bass guitars, different amps and cabs, and various other electronic gadgets the choice finally fell on my white custom shop Ibanez Iceman run through an MXR Bass D.I.+ and an Aguilar Tonehammer into an Aguilar DB751 head and a DB810 cab, complimented by a Marshall VBC 412 cab, hidden behind a veritable forest of expensive microphones on serious looking mic stands. And the result? Fucking awesome, people! Our engineer Rickard Bengtsson is an audio nerd with a rock'n'roll backbone who does not give up until he finds what he's looking for - and thank fuck for that. Cause the songs on this album really need to be presented in the best way possible. Having laid down all the bass tracks now I just can't wait for everybody to hear the album, and to play all these songs live for you all! But we're not quite there yet, next up are blistering leads from the depths of hell...”
If you also can’t wait to hear some new tracks live, better bookmark the following dates. Arch Enemy will be playing North Africa for the first time ever at Morocco, Casablanca, L’Boulevard Festival, May 14th!
Watch out for Khaos Legions to be released in May 2011 via Century Media Records."
