VOIVOD - War And Pain To Be Re-Issued On Vinyl
March 14, 2011, 13 years ago
War On Music Records has announced plans to re-issue Canadian thrash legends VOIVOD's classic War And Pain album on vinyl. Originally released in 1984, War And Pain was re-issued by Metal Blade in 2004 as a 3 CD box set, but has long remained out of print on vinyl. Often regarded as one of the best debut albums in metal history, War And Pain began a long career of influential releases, most recently 2010's Infini.
The vinyl re-issue has been carefully re-mastered from the original reels, and features the iconic album art of drummer Michel "Away" Langevin in a full color gatefold jacket. Pressing is limited to 1000 copies, it will be available in May 2011. Watch www.waronmusic.com for details.
Voivod recently confirmed an April 5th release date for their forthcoming live album via Indica Records. Titled Warriors Of Ice, the album was recorded on December 12th, 2009 during the band's first headlining show in Montréal in ten years at Club Soda.
More details about the release including the official artwork and tracklisting will be revealed soon.
