March 19, 2011, 13 years ago
Matt Sorum (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) has finished the mix on the new solo album from ex-RUNAWAYS singer CHERIE CURRIE.
Jimmy Z recently posted footage from the recording sessions for Currie's upcoming solo album, from Matt Sorum's studio in California.
A description of the clip from Jimmy Z reads: "The session with Cherie Currie for her song 'You Wreck Me', with Matt Sorum producing, couldn't have gone better. All the horn section parts I wrote worked for the song and Matt and Cherie were pleased with it. I blew some solos and riffs through out the vamp. I played a sax solo on one other song and a good time was had by all. We love days like that."

Speaking recently to VH1 Radio Networks' Dave Basner, Matt Sorum revealed more details on the forthcoming solo album from Currie.
Sorum, who is producing the album, says, "It's sounding great... I'm really excited about that. SLASH played on it, Duff (McKagan - Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N' Roses) played on it, I got Billy Corgan (SMASHING PUMPKINS) on a track, THE VERONICAS are coming in, JULIETTE LEWIS, COURTNEY LOVE..."
Currie's new album is expected to be released in spring 2011. Stay tuned for further updates.
