CRIMSON CULT, featuring ex-STYGMA IV members Günter Maier and Alex Hilzensauer, have posted a tribute to guitar legend GARY MOORE with their cover of COLOSSEUM II's 'The Inquisition'. Check it out below.
The original version of the track appeared on the Colosseum II album War Dance, released in 1977.
Following is the official Crimson Cult bio:
Crimson Cult is the new band around former Stygma IV members Günter Maier and Alex Hilzensauer. After the split of Stygma IV, Günter and Alex always stayed in close contact and never lost the joy of playing music together. With Peter Bachmayer and Walter Stuefer they now found the right musicians for bringing their musical ideas to the point. From Stygma-esque powermetal to high speed parts and doom parts, Crimson Cult reflects the Günter and Alex's preferred music.
For the fact that Peter Bachmayer is one of the best drummers around with no technical limitations, it's easy to write the right metal songs. Walter Stuefer completed the band with his outstanding metal voice and a lot of live experience. Within the first three weeks of their existence, the band wrote ten new songs which were recorded during autumn 2008. In January 2009, Dockyard1 signed the band and released their debut album.
