TWISTED SISTER's Dee Snider Honored As Worldwide Ambassador For Rock Of Ages

According to Theatermania.com, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider was honored with a certificate naming him Worldwide Ambassador for the Broadway musical Rock Of Ages, at a celebration at Bowlmor Lanes Times Square on Friday, April 1.

Snider, whose music is featured in the show ('I Wanna Rock' and 'We're Not Gonna Take It'), recently played the character of Dennis for an 11-week run before the show went dark last fall in anticipation of its move to the Helen Hayes Theatre, where it is currently performing.

According to Wikipedia, the Rock Of Ages film rights have been sold to Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema. The film is to be directed by Adam Shankman and will start shooting in May and will feature Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin and Paul Giamatti. The film adaption is scheduled for a June 6, 2012 release in theaters.

Rock Of Ages is built around classic rock hits from the 1980s, especially from the famous glam metal bands of the decade. The musical features songs from STYX, JOURNEY, BON JOVI, PAT BENATAR, STEVE PERRY, POISON and ASIA, among other well-known rock bands.
