D.C. Cooper Discusses Touring With ROYAL HUNT - "Everyone Can Expect An Awesome Show... With Some Of That Old Magic Reappearing"
April 6, 2011, 13 years ago
Danish prog-power metallers ROYAL HUNT and their former lead singer, D.C. Cooper, have reunited - for a very few selected dates – in order to perform the entire Paradox, their first concept album from 1997, and several of “everybody’s all-time favourite” songs from that period.
Russia's Darkside has issued a new interview with Cooper. The following is an excerpt:
Q: The first question will be, of course, why did you accept Andre (Andersen)’s offer about the reunion tour, did you hesitate about that and what was determining factor in saying “yes”?
A: "Well, Andre had been in contact last year to get back together. I had originally said 'No'... but after this last offer and conversation we had together, I decided it was time to get back in the groove, put our past behind us, and see if there was still some magic left. The determining factor was a good deal... and hopefully a good understanding of what we both want out of it."
Q: What can we expect from this tour, are there only Russia and Japan (if it’s still) or some other countries or maybe some European festivals. Any possibility of new Royal Hunt album with your vocal?
A: "I hope everyone can expect an awesome show... with some of that old magic reappearing. I know when I'm rehearsing... I actually get a little choked up thinking about some of my favorite moments during certain songs. It seems I can remember some of the great moments just like it was yesterday. We had a great great thing back then. It was almost... (sometimes)... magical. They were some of the best times of my life."
