MetalAssault.com recently caught up with guitarist Jasun Tipton from CYNTHESIS to discuss the band's new album, DeEvolution. An excerpt is available below:

Q: Can you give us some background of how Cynthesis came together?

Jasun: "When it came to the idea of the album, I knew there was only one vocalist that we wanted and that was Erik. There's just something about his vocals, they are amazing. It's funny, I ran into him at a HEAVENAND HELL concert. He was actually in the same row as I was and it was just like old times, we gave each other a big hug and talked and when I asked him if he'd be on the album, he said absolutely. Same with Sean Flanegan, we've been good friends with him and when I asked Troy who he wanted as far as drummers go, Sean's name was the first that came up. It really felt like it was meant to be. It's really cool when things like that fall into place."

Q: What should fans expect from DeEvolution?

Jasun: "We wanted it to be very melodic and spacey. It has a lot of progressive rock elements but has a metal influence as well. We wanted to it to be completely different from Zero Hour, I know a lot of fans are expecting that but we wanted it to be completely different and it's awesome. It's very cinematic, we wanted to flow like a score for a movie which we could do with a concept album like this."
