In 2006, CAULDRON emerged from the still smoldering ashes of the cult Canadian metal legion GOAT HORN. With a new lineup featuring Ian Chains, Al 'Altillery' Chambers, and Jason Decay, Cauldronquickly entered the studio to record the now classic debut, Into The Cauldron EP, before signing to Earache, building a reputation as Canada's premier traditional metal outfit and becoming one of the undisputed leaders of heavy metal revival worldwide.
Short, sweet, to the f'n point, Into The Cauldron featured four unforgettable tracks of true heavy metal in the vein of DIAMOND HEAD, RAVEN, SCORPIONS, MEGADETH, PRIEST, early MAIDEN, GRAVESTONE, OBSESSION, STORMWITCH, EXCITER, OMEN, SAVAGE GRACE....this list could go on, but you get the picture. Heavy metal.
Driven by the tasty guitars of Ian Chains and the signature vocals of Jason Decay, Into The Cauldron marked a departure from the earlier, more Sabbath driven style of Goat Horn, and began to define the sound that has marked their later releases Chained to the Night (2009) and Burning Fortune (2011).
Into The Cauldron will now be made available again on Vinyl from War On Music Records on July 22nd as a limited 12" pressing on classic black wax, fully remastered and featuring two additional tracks not available on the original CD.
