According to the DEEP PURPLE Appreciation Society, DEEP PURPLE's legendary 1984 'comeback album' Perfect Strangers will be released as a Deluxe remastered edition this summer.

Says DPAS, "it will likely be a three-disc set; CD1 will be the remaster; CD3 will be the old Interview Disc Polydor issued as a promo for the album; CD2 will be an odds and ends disc with some tracks from Knebworth (already released as a stand-alone package), the b-side and hopefully the instrumental out-takes which surfaced in Japan some years ago before being withdrawn. The idea of a remix has been dropped as nobody can find the tapes."

According to Wikipedia, at the time it was the first Deep Purple studio album in nine years, and the first with the Mk II lineup for eleven years, the last being Who Do We Think We Are in 1973. Ritchie Blackmore and Roger Glover arrived from RAINBOW, Ian Gillan from BLACK SABBATH, Jon Lord from WHITESNAKE, and Ian Paice from GARY MOORE's backing band.

The album reached #2 in Norway, #5 in the UK (staying for four weeks in the top-40) and #17 in the US (staying for 28 weeks in the Billboard 200).
