MIKE PORTNOY Says His "Public Divorce" From DREAM THEATER "Kind Of Sucked"

Metal Injection spoke with former DREAM THEATER/AVENGED SEVENFOLD drummer Mike Portnoy on the black carpet of the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, which were held last Wednesday, April 20th at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California.
When asked about his public split with Dream Theater that was splashed all over the internet, Portnoy responded: "It kind of sucks. It's like getting a divorce on national TV. It's kind of fucked up because anything I would say would be kind of misinterpreted or taken the wrong way. It was never my intention to even go public with this; I wanted to have a quiet, little personal situation happen. But it is what it is. I'm here and I'm happy. I'm sowing my musical oats. I'm like a guy being a bachelor after being married for 25 years."
