In a recent conversation with BW&BK;, Sophia offered some insight as to the significance of the Princess Ghibli compilation:

"Studio Ghibli is the most respected anime company on the planet. They've won Oscar Awards and whatnot, you might have heard of Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. Hayao Miyazaki is the head of the company - has been for decades now - and the creator behind many of these masterpieces. So basically these guys are the stamp of approval and the equal to quality as far as anime is concerned. Ghibli anime is considered to be rather intellectual, poetic and artistic.

Media Factory who is releasing the CD, is also a huge anime record label, so both names are important.

Collaborating with such a company is like the baptism to worldwide approval. Miyazaki is known to create masterpieces, and basically Ghibli is God to many. I was so excited when they listened to my demos and wanted me to sing half of the album. I hope I can make an original theme in the future (laughs)."
