DERELICT - Promo EP And Free Song Available Via Bandcamp
April 26, 2011, 13 years ago
Montreal tech-death shredders DERELICT have posted their self-titled 2011 promo EP up for sale on their Bandcamp page for $1.99, which includes the opening track, 'Perpetuation', as a free download. Go to this location to check out the material.
Vocalist Eric Burnet comments: “We originally intended this EP to simply be a promotional lead-up to the next album, but our fans have been asking us to make the tracks available. They were produced at full album quality, so we figured, why not! In this day and age bands can't afford to hold music back for no reason, and if people want to have it, we're more than happy to deliver it.”
The EP features three songs that will be on the band's next full-length, due out in late 2011. Tracking duties were shared by Burnet and Montreal engineer Kevin Frenette, who worked on Derelict's 2009 release Unspoken Words, with mixing and mastering completed by Chris Donaldson (BENEATH THE MASSACRE, THE AGONIST). Bass duties were provided courtesy of Swiss fretless guru Seb Pittet (AUGURY).
Over the next few months, Derelict will be putting the finishing touches on their next full-length, playing select shows around Quebec and Ontario, and looking at expanding their reach to the US and Europe.
Unspoken Words is available in stores across Canada through Year Of The Sun Records, in the US and online through Relapse Records, as well as on iTunes.
