Breath-Fresher recently interviewed vocalist/guitarist Masaki Murashita of HEMOPTYSIS. Masaki talks about Hemoptysis’ new album, Misanthropic Slaughter, his personal, and musical background, and more. The following is an excerpt:

Q: Tell us about the album. I can imagine that a making an album needs a lot of energy and time. How long did it take on the entire process from the recording to the releasing of the CD?

A: "We started recording Misanthropic Slaughter in mid-July last year. We finished tracking everything in about three weeks. Then we went through mixing, mastering, got the cover art and booklet designs, and did the CD pressing. We got the final product in hand on December 31st, 2010. We released it independently on March 8th, so it took about 8 months overall. However, we started discussing and getting ready to record this album in the end of 2009, so if we include that, it definitely took a year and a half until we released it. Recording this album with Producer Ryan Greene (MEGADETH, NOFX) was one of our dreams and it wasn't easy at all to make it happen. Obviously, we didn't have the financial backing of a record label, but we didn't want to put out a half-ass record. We wanted to have the best record we could get though it meant saving up our money for a long time to get it. Just because we were unsigned, people were less likely to give us a chance. It isn't easy to get the real deal nowadays. Therefore, we wanted to make a record that made people think, "It makes no sense that these guys aren't signed". We were extremely excited and honored to ink a deal with Rock It Up Records in Germany. The European edition of Misanthropic Slaughter, that includes the 'Shadow of Death' music video as a bonus feature, will be released on May 27th. We will continue working hard. Let's see what happens with this new release. Hopefully it catches on."

The interview also includes an exclusive video message to Japanese fans from Masaki in Japanese (see below). Click here to check out the interview.
