According to WSLS 10, Morgan Harrington will receive a posthumous degree during Virginia Tech's Spring commencement ceremonies this coming weekend.

The Department of Religion and Culture will award the degree to Morgan's parents Dr. Dan and Gil Harrington. Morgan's father will accept the degree.

Teacher and artist Jane Lillian Vance will speak about Morgan during the ceremony.

"Morgan was my front row girl," says Vance, in a news release. Vance teaches a class called The Creative Process. "She was shockingly insightful and eager to learn," said Vance about Harrington.

The Virginia Tech student from Roanoke County, disappeared during a METALLICA concert at John Paul Jones Arena on the University of Virginia's campus back in October of 2009. The statewide search for Morgan drew national attention. State Police eventually found Morgan's remains at a secluded farm in Albemarle County, outside Charlottesville.

Investigators believe Morgan was killed.
