Despite frontman Steven Tyler’s previous pronouncements that AEROSMITH would perform on the finale of this season’s American Idol, some statements from guitarist Joe Perry prove otherwise.

Posting to his Facebook page, Perry states: "Not playing Idol cause we were never asked by producers. Brad has a gig that night with (EXPERIENCE HENDRIX). It's not logistically possible."

Another statement reads: "Aersomith's looking forward to playing American Idol next season when our new CD is out and we can prepare for a kick ass show if they ask us."

Aerosmith will bring their one of a kind live show to Latin America this fall.
