Costa Rica-based melodic metallers SIGHT OF EMPTINESS have been nominated at this year's ACAM Awards, which will be held on May 30th, at the Teatro Melíco Salazar in San José, Costa Rica. ACAM (Asociacion de Compositores y Autores Musicales de Costa Rica) is the equivalent of ASCAP in the USA.

The band's nomination comes as a big surprise: the band is nominated in the Artist Of The Year category alongside four of the biggest Costa Rican mainstream bands (Percance, Malpaís, Balerom & Escats). This is the first time ever for this category at the ACAM Awards and obviously a huge step for an extreme metal band to be nominated in this category.

Commented the band: "We are extremely honored, we been working really hard for the past five and a half years in order to overtake our goals and dreams. This nomination really helps to remind us that we are stronger than ever as a group of people who really enjoys what they're doing and ready to accomplish more achievements and good times together; we are a band to watch out for..."

'Burning Silence', the new video from Sight Of Emptiness, can be viewed in the link below. The clip was filmed on May 9th when the band supported MEGADETH in front of 15,000 metalheads at Autodromo La Guacima in San Jose, Costa Rica.

'Burning Silence' comes off Sight Of Emptiness' latest album, Absolution Of Humanity.
