MetalMouthMedia.com caught up with London, Ontario's BAPTIZED IN BLOOD in Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 21st. Check out the video interview below, which includes discussion on the band being co-managed by MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine:

Following is BW&BK; scribe Mitch Lafon's recent interview with Baptized In Blood bassist, Matt Harris:

BraveWords.com: The album came out in the fall (2010) are you thinking ahead to new music or…

Matt Harris: “Right now, we’re still promoting the first album and are trying to get it out there as much as we can. We’re doing an Ontario run of dates right now and next month we head out to eastern Canada. In the summer, we take over Europe. We’ll be working on new ideas in between, but right now the main focus is to pump the album.”

BraveWords.com: Will you be playing at all the large European festivals?

Harris: "We’ve confirmed a few including Grasspop in Belgium. The others we can’t say just yet, but we’ll definitely be doing a lot of festivals.”

BraveWords.com: That’s got to be exciting. You’ll go from playing clubs in Ontario to crowds of 50,000, 60,000 or more…

Harris: "It’ll be a lot like Heavy MTL, but these festivals are twice the size. It’ll definitely be an experience.”

BraveWords.com: How did your record label discover the band?

Harris: "We’ve been a band for over seven years and we just bugged them to come see our shows. They did and they would give us pointers. They’d tell us to work on stuff and we did. Finally, the time was right. We had paid our dues, got our shit together and they took us on board.”

BraveWords.com: What are people going to see at a Baptized In Blood live show?

Harris: "They’ll see lots of energy and intensity. They’ll see fives dudes rocking out as hard as they can, they’ll hear great tunes and they’ll have a great time.”

BraveWords.com: What are your musical influences? Are you more like KISS or SLAYER?

Harris: "We definitely have elements of both of those. We’re just a good thrash hardcore metal band. Not too far in any one direction.”

BraveWords.com: What’s the story behind the album?

Harris: "We recorded it in Massachusetts with Zeus (producer; (3 INCHES OF BLOOD, HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL). It’s a mix of old and new songs. We had an album out before called Gutter Bound and some of the songs are re-recorded from that. They’ve been re-worked with Zeus and new songs like 'Only Cure' and 'Dirty’s Back' were written just for this album. We just felt that some of the older songs needed to be heard by a larger audience.”

BraveWords.com: Why’d you choose Zeus to produce the album?

Harris: "We chose him because he’s done a lot of cool stuff in the past like SHADOWS FALL, MADBALL and HATEBREED. He’s worked with tons of great bands. It was no brainer. His work ethic was great. He worked us really hard. He made us tear down the songs and look at each part to build the best songs we could. I think what came out is pretty awesome.”
