According to Perth's Inmycommunity.com.au, on the eve of what would have been Bon Scott’s 65th birthday (July 9th), Fremantle will pay tribute to the original AC/DC frontman with an epic rock show featuring two former AC/DC members.

Refreshing his memory will be Mark Evans, former AC/DC bass player, who is downright excited to be involved in the July 8 gig.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Evans, who will line up alongside former AC/DC drummer Simon Wright for the first time.

They will join Aussie rockers Raise the Flag, a band with an ever-changing line-up, on stage in Fremantle.

Dave Gleeson, of the Screaming Jets, and Anthony “Skenie” Skene, from the Poor, will lend their voices to the huge rock anthems, with soaring guitar solos made famous by Angus Young to be performed by James Morley, of the Angels, and Rogue Sharks guitarist Mick Adkins.

Evans last visited Fremantle for the unveiling of the Bon Scott statue in 2008.

Though he was in AC/DC for a relatively short period – 1975 to 1977 – Evans says his years performing alongside Scott changed his life.

Within 12 months of his joining the band, AC/DC had taken Australia by storm and moved to London to build its international profile.

“People really relate to him,” Evans said. “There’s great humour and wit in his lyrics and some fantastic turns of phrase.
