CHICKENFOOT's forthcoming sophomore effort, Chickenfoot IV, is set for release on September 27th. Artisan News has issued a video report in which vocalist SAMMY HAGAR (ex-VAN HALEN) talks about the new album.

Says Hagar: "We took a giant step on this record. It still sounds like Chickenfoot, 'cause it's the same guys, but I think the experience that we had together on tour and the success of the last record really opened us up to who and what we are."

The report can be seen below:

The first single from Chickenfoot IV, 'Bigfoot', is scheduled to hit the airwaves sometime this month.

Bassist Michael Anthony describes Chickenfoot IV as "a lot heavier than the first record."

Tracks to appear on the new album include: 'Bigfoot', 'No Change', 'Who's Next', 'Astral Years' and 'I Ain't Got You, I Got The Two By Blues'.

According to Hagar, the album cover and first video will both be in 3D.

Artisan News previously issued a video report in which Hagar talks about reuniting with his Van Halen bandmates:

Hagar states: "Absolutely. I'm not predicting it, I just say... someday - we made too good a music together, with Eddie and I in Van Halen, we had such a great thing for a long time. When it went sour, it went sour - it wasn't just because of us, there was a lot of outside sources. Our manager died and a new guy came in, and he just totally divided the band, divided and conquered us, you know. So, I think there will come a time where Eddie's gonna wake up and go, 'Hey man, I miss being friends with Sammy', if nothing else, or, 'I would love to make that music again, or play those songs again'. They have no choice. They've got Sam or they've got Dave. They can't find a new guy, they already tried that, it didn't work. So, it's inevitable, if Eddie and Al want to play music for the rest of their lives, someday they're gonna have to come and deal with me."
