That Devil Music has issued an interview with U.D.O. guitarist Stefan Kaufmann. The following is an excerpt from the interview, conducted by Rob Liz:

Q: You began your career as a drummer for many years and then switched to guitars. How did that come about and was that an easy transition or were there challenges?

A: "Actually, the first instrument I learned was the accordion (at the age of about 3), the second the guitar (at the age of about and only the third instrument was the drums (at the age of about 14). The reason for it was, that the local band I wanted to join was looking for a drummer – not a guitar player. So my parents bought a little drum kit for me (big mistake!!), and I joined a small local band as a drummer (two weeks later I had my first gig...). But I always wanted to be a guitar player. So, finally, with U.D.O., I found what I was always looking for!"

Q: I see that you are credited with contributing keyboards to the Faceless World album. Are there any instruments you can’t play?

A: "I’m pretty bad when it comes to brass or woodwinds. But instruments with strings, keys or skins are okay."
