ROBERT PLANT To Help Commemorate 40th Anniversary Of The Old Grey Whistle Test

According to here, LED ZEPPELIN's Robert Plant and ELTON JOHN will help commemorate the 40th anniversary of the BBC Radio 2 music series The Old Grey Whistle Test.

The show, hosted by "Whispering" Bob Harris, is slated to broadcast in August featuring classic archival material, new performances recorded at the famous Maida Vale studios, along with interviews with artists who appeared on the original series.

Harris said the 16-part series will be "a massive reunion, featuring superstars of British and American music."

PAUL WELLER, ROGER DALTREY, MARK KNOPFLER, YUSUF ISLAM, EMMYLOU HARRIS and SIMPLE MINDS are among the other artists who will appear.

The original version of The Old Grey Whistle Test aired for 16 years, from 1971 to 1987, on BBC2. The program gave artists a forum to expose audiences to the breadth of their catalogs.
