ANTHRAX has posted the following message to SEPULTURA’s Andreas Kisser regarding him filling in on guitar while guitarist Scott Ian was out for eight dates this past July taking care of his new fatherly duty with wife Pearl Aday (daughter of a rock legend MEATLOAF) and their new son Revel Young Ian:
“Words cannot express the feeling of love we have for you. From the first day, you were a part of the family. You were the only choice to fill in for Scott and that decision proved to be the right one. Thank you for being you, we miss you already. Have a great tour with the mighty Sepultura.”Check out a picture from the tour below:
For all of those Anthtrax fans who have been waiting for the band to finally release new music, 'Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't', the first track available from the upcoming album Worship Music, has just gone on sale at Amazon below. Worship Music is the first new studio album from Anthrax in eight years, and the first with vocalist Joey Belladonna since 1990's Persistence Of Time. What a way for the band to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The "classic Anthrax-sounding" 'Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't' is a song about killing zombies, and is the one new track that Anthrax - Belladonna, guitarists Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano, drummer Charlie Benante and bassist Frank Bello - has played live since they Belladonna rejoined the line-up a year ago. Anthrax offered the track as a free download last month, and fan comments in chat rooms have been overwhelmingly ecstatic.
In addition, Anthrax is revealing the CD cover artwork for Worship Music (photo above). Renowned comic book artist Alex Ross, who has worked with Marvel Comics and DC Comics and is known for his Marvels, Kingdom Come and Astro City illustrations, created the original painting for the cover. Ross also did the original artwork for Anthrax's We've Come For You All and Music of Mass Destruction albums.
Anthrax will play the Heavy T.O. Festival in Toronto on July 23rd, and the Heavy MTL festival in Montreal on July 24th.
BraveWords.com scribe Aaron Small recently conducted an interview with Scott Ian. Check out the chat here.
