Arizona based death/thrashers SARGON whose current lineup includes ex-MALEVOLENT CREATION and SOLSTICE drummer Alex Marquez have issued the following update:

"Hey folks, it's been a while since I've posted and update, but trust me that things have not been quiet in the Sargon camp. It is my pleasure to announce that we have reached an agreement with old school/extreme metal label Old Cemetery Records for the physical release of Sargon's debut album In Contempt. The release date will be September 23rd, and we'll be announcing a CD release show in Phoenix, AZ very soon.

Sargon has also been added to the lineup of bands to perform at this year's San Antonio, TX based death metal festival: The Goregrowler's Ball three days, 50 plus bands, and two stages! Sargon will be performing on Friday, November 18th, 2011. Other bands scheduled to perform at the festival are: SUFFOCATION, THE REUNITED SOLSTICE, DECEASED, EXHUMED, IMPIETY, HIRAX, ABORTED, and many more.

We are also proud to announce that we have recruited ex-DEATH/MONSTROSITY bass monster Kelly Conlon who will be performing with Sargon on the mentioned shows. It's an absolute honor to be playing with Kelly, for his experience, professionalism, killer bass playing, and on-stage madness are a great fit for Sargon and are sure to crush some skulls live.

In other news, I have inked an endorsement deal with Blackstorm Coils handcrafted guitar strings (finally a guitar string made for heavy metal). These strings are top notch and make your guitar scream like no other. Check em' out here.

Finally, please check out our Facebook page for the latest updates and to stream our music (be sure to give us a "like").

I will keep you posted as far as the details of our CD release party/gig as soon as they come up!"
