The 2011 edition of the Wacken Open Air festival ran from August 4th - 6th, in Wacken, Germany, and featured performances from
AS I LAY DYING, AVANTASIA, BLIND GUARDIAN, CHILDREN OF BODOM, CRADLE OF FILTH, THE HAUNTED, HELLOWEEN, ICED EARTH, JUDAS PRIEST, KATAKLYSM, KREATOR, MAYHEM, MORBID ANGEL, MOTÖRHEAD, OZZY OSBOURNE, PRIMAL FEAR, SEPULTURA, TRIVIUM, and many others.
Organizers have issued the following update:
"The first pictures from the festival, taken by our official festival photographers from the 4th to 6th of August, are now online! You can see them in our gallery. Further albums will be uploaded continuously within the next few weeks."

AXEL RUDI PELL and FORBIDDEN are the latest acts confirmed for the Wacken Open Air 2012, set to take place August 2nd - 4th in Wacken, Germany.
Confirmed acts now include: AMON AMARTH, CRADLE OF FILTH, FORBIDDEN, GAMMA RAY, HAMMERFALL, MINISTRY, AXEL RUDI PELL, SCORPIONS, U.D.O.
